We want each child to experience and know the Lord. We hope to help them develop and grow spiritually and morally. It is our desire that they would come to receive God’s free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and that they would know and apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives.

We believe that children are able to know God personally, to serve Him and walk with Him from an early age. We believe that children have the ability to impact the world around them and we want to help them learn and grow to be a positive part of their families, friendships, and schools.

We want to do our part in helping children grow into their full potential. Our children’s ministries are focused on empowering our children to do all that they were created to do.

To promote the safety and well being of your children, all of our volunteers are fully screened with the following:

  • An approved children’s ministry application
  • A background record check
  • 4 references
  • Guardian System training

“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9 NIV

The mission of our Children’s Ministry is to lead the children by example into an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ using the truths of the Bible as our foundation. Our Bible curriculum was chosen and designed to help children discover what God’s word says and how to apply that truth in their lives.

“Train up a child in the way they should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

We present the truths of God’s word through:

  • Prayer, Praise, and Worship
  • Powerful Bible lessons and illustrated stories
  • Puppets and skits
  • Videos and memory verses
  • Crafts and games

Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus Vacation Bible School

We are thrilled about this year’s Vacation Bible School!  Venture onto an uncharted island where kids survive and thrive. Anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through life’s storms.  Each day at Shipwrecked VBS, kids travel through field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventures.

On June 25 – 29, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. – 12noon each day, kids 5 years old to 7th grade are invited to join us for crafts, games, Bible adventures, music, snacks, prizes, candy, and more!  VBS is FREE and open to the entire community!

The Details

  • Doors open each day at 8:30 a.m.
  • Early registration is from May 6 – June 10.  Registration will take place in the foyer at the Parent Pager desk before and after weekly services.  Parents must register their own children.

Why do you have the children in the corporate praise and worship?
At River of Life, we encourage the presence of children in worship. We believe families should be worshipping together. Children learn through modeling and gain the opportunity to learn by example. Children are dismissed after praise and worship each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening celebrations.

What is your pick up procedure?
For your child’s safety, only the parents are allowed to sign in or sign out their child. We do not release children to their older siblings.

What classes are available at Sunday morning services?
Please see the above schedule for available classes in both of our locations.

When does the Nursery and Children’s Ministry open?
The Children’s Ministry opens after corporate praise and worship.

Will the Children’s Ministry staff come and get me if my baby needs me?
Each visiting parent is given an identification number that will flash in the sanctuary display if their child requires their attention.

Is there somewhere for nursing mothers to feed their babies?
We have a Mommy’s Room located in the back corner of the sanctuary. This room is equipped with a speaker system so that nursing moms do not have to miss the service.
