For years, God has made it clear to us that River of Life and Pastors Chris and Miriam would expand beyond our home base in Jacksonville, NC, where we have been ministering to military families for 23 years.  We knew that someday we’d start another River of Life somewhere, we just didn’t know where.

Through the years, we’ve regularly said goodbye to men and women stationed at Camp Lejeune as they received orders to Quantico in Northern Virginia.  God made it clear that we should be moving in that same direction and begin a second campus in Northern Virginia.  Our desire is to expand that work to reach Marines stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico and soldiers assigned to Ft. Belvoir.

But, River of Life Virginia isn’t exclusively about the military.  It’s about everyone in and around Northern Virginia.  It’s about changing people’s lives and eternal destinies through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  That’s our passion, and that’s our purpose.

We meet every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at Potomac Middle School in Dumfries, VA. We look forward to meeting you and your family! Nursery and Children’s Church will be available for those of you with young children, and of course, we’ll have fresh, hot coffee in the lobby.

Our on-site Pastors, James and Crystal Grayson, would love to meet you this weekend!

Pastor James Grayson came to Jacksonville in 1995 because of the United States Marine Corps, where he served our country for six years. While on deployment to Bosnia in 1998, he was radically saved while on the U.S.S WASP off the coast of Malta in the Mediterranean sea. He attended River of Life for the first time in the summer of 1998 where he met a beautiful young lady named Crystal that he would marry one year later.  Pastor James served in various ministries at River of Life before coming on full-time staff in 2003. Pastor James and Crystal were sent out as missionaries to Treviso, Italy by the church in 2004 and returned to Jacksonville in 2010.

Since Pastor James and Crystal moved back to Jacksonville, they began building the Outreach Ministry at River of Life that has continued to evolve over the last five years.  Now, Pastor James and Crystal are the on-site pastors at our River of Life Virginia location.

Pastor James also leads the new guests program and first-time decision ministry, where he leads people to Jesus and follows up with those who give their life to Christ.

Being an evangelist at heart, he is passionate about missions both locally and globally, and has a desire to see the Body of Christ equipped to reach others with the love of God.

Pastor James and his wife, Crystal, have three beautiful children: James III, Eliyah, and Miriam.
